reflectionGone are the days where teachers dump knowledge into kids' brains, and then ask the children to regurgitate the information. Current learning trends focus on student-centered learning., where children take ownership of their learning. Teachers act as facilitators to guide students in the right direction, and intervene when appropriate.
Tests are not the only way students are able to showcase their learning. With numerous applications at the tips' of educators' fingers, creative products can be made by the students to reveal their mastery of subject matter. Teachers must navigate the web to find applications that provide creative means to do this. |
artifactsThe video below uses a screen recorder application to give students instructions for navigating an assignment.
Students can create authentic products that reflect their understanding on specific standards using Makebelievecomics.
This lesson plan demonstrates my ability to design learning scenarios rich in technology, engagement, and assessment.

Future Learning GoalsWhile I do create an environment which fosters student-directed learning, time constraints limit the time necessary to complete deeply rooted problem-based lessons. I will create a goal to research and collaborate with other educators to determine the best management strategies to implement activities, where the students are held responsible for their learning.
